Energizer Rechargeable D batteries are NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) batteries primarily used in high-drain devices such as large flashlights, radios, and toys. They are also known by alternative names such as HR20 or D NiMH. These batteries are equivalent in size and voltage to standard D alkaline batteries. However, the alkaline D batteries are alkaline-manganese batteries with a longer shelf life but are not rechargeable.
